Rueben Hays, CEO
Rueben Hays is the visionary behind Crescent Surgical Supply (CSS). He entered the healthcare field in 1997 as an EMT while a Corpsman in the United States Navy. Having served as a CST and medical device representative, he began buying and selling in the medical device surplus industry in 2003. With almost 20 years in medical sales, Rueben still loves what he does. His vision for CSS includes adding new verticals that increase access to both durable medical equipment (DME) and a wide array of medical products and devices. Aside from loving healthcare, Rueben is recognized as a dedicated philanthropist serving on boards and in impacted communities in various capacities. Fun Fact: He is an avid Harley Davidson rider/motorcycle enthusiast, and loves traveling the world.
Maurice Hays, Vice President
Committed. Hardworking. Relatable. These qualities define my professional approach and are the foundation of my career journey. With a passion for applying classroom knowledge to real-world experiences, I am dedicated to continuously developing my problem-solving skills, working collaboratively, and exceeding sales goals. I thrive on finding innovative solutions and creatively engaging with customers while building meaningful relationships with both colleagues and clients. Currently, I am honored to serve as Vice President at CSS, a role that has been a testament to hard work and perseverance. I am committed to leading our team as we strive to become one of the largest veteran minority black-owned distributor companies in the medical industry. Together, we push each other to grow and succeed, driven by a shared vision of reaching new heights. My ongoing goal is to enhance my expertise in customer service, finance, marketing, and management, while continuously expanding our company’s impact and influence in the industry.
Renee Floyd, Executive Assistant
Renee’s tenacity and dedication make her an invaluable asset to the CSS team. While her official title is Executive Assistant to the CEO, she wears many hats, each showcasing her commitment to excellence. As the Secretary of the Greenville (JGVL) Board, Renee contributes to meaningful community initiatives, while her role as Gala Director for the Royal Gala highlights her exceptional skills in event design and planning. With her HR consulting experience and background as a successful home baker, she brings a unique mix of business acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and creativity. Renee’s diverse experience, from owning an HR consulting and staffing agency to mastering the art of pastry, ensures she brings a balanced, innovative approach to all she does. Her passion lies in setting up her team for success, often from behind the scenes, confident in her ability to position them to meet and exceed their goals. Fun facts: Renee is renowned for her baking, especially her highly requested Strawberry Crunch Cake. She loves Christmas so much she keeps her tree up year-round, and she’s also an avid horseback rider.
Anthony D. Hailstock, Supply/Inventory Manager
Anthony was the first original staff member of the company here at Crescent Surgical Supply. With an integral role at CSS, Anthony enjoys the company’s atmosphere, which allows him and his colleagues maximum productivity. Anthony has worn many hats with efficacy in his illustrious career and prides himself in “getting the job done!” Fun Facts: Anthony has been a vegetarian for over 20 years! He is also a avid Harley rider
Dionne D. Washington, Sales & Account Manager
Dionne, has a background in procurement and is now passionate about his current role as Sales & Account Manager. He aims to fulfill the needs of our clients and assists them with achieving their company goals as a liaison in customer support. Dionne takes pride in being a facilitator also is truly passionate about helping clients with any customer service needs, and acquiring the products they’re seeking out to meet their company goals and mission. Fun Fact: He loves the Pittsburgh Steelers and is afraid of spiders.
Reginald Hays, Project Manager
As a former residential developer, Reggie has worn many hats in his career. His many life experiences brought him to CSS, and he is excited to be in a position to help grow the company. Known for being a free spirit, Reggie loves to wander around the city where he resides on his skateboard and also his bicycles. He also enjoys being an involved dad to his daughter who’s in elementary school. His other endeavors include; Forex trading & entrepreneurship. Fun Fact: When he first entered college, Reggie was an art major!
Ray Shannon, Operations Manager
Ray has been in operational management for a decade and is a results-driven professional with several years of effective leadership experience in operations management, strategic marketing and community relations. Ray possess excellent communication, presentation, motivational, and team building skills. Ray’s also adept at conducting comprehensive analyses, identifying areas of improvement, new opportunities and building systems that encompass collaboration as an effective solution that have been benchmarked on all levels. Fun Fact: Ray has worked in many different roles over his career, including human services advocating for local teens.
Rueben Hays, Sr., DME Project Manager
As a west coast representative of Crescent Surgical Supply (CSS), Rueben was previously the Account Manager of Procurement for CSS and currently oversees the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) product development. Rueben has spent most of his professional career in Telecom engineering management and Realty projects. He has extensive experience and skills in audio production. Fun Facts: Rueben enjoys traveling, the outdoors, such as camping and biking. He also enjoys spending time with family. Rueben’s bucket list: Touring the Louvre Museum in Paris
Shere Smith, Personal Assistant
Meet Shere Smith, the energetic Personal Assistant to CEO Rueben Hays and a master of turning plans into action. With her keen eye for detail and passion for service, Shere ensures every task shines. As a youth director and community leader, she empowers the next generation. Whether serving as Volunteer Director at Juneteenth GVL, Shere’s dedication to uplifting others knows no bounds. In her downtime, she enjoys family, sweet tea, and adventures with her dog, Clyde. Shere is a driving force for good, both professionally and personally!
